Of course, he was a genius of a writer, and his life is practically as fascinating as his stories.
He married his thirteen-year-old cousin Virginia, and apparently, their marriage was a very happy one, until she died, and he was inconsolable. He wrote the poems "Annabelle Lee" and "Lenore" about her.
